A Pornhub spokesperson estimated around 1% of uploads per year, or 68,00 videos per year, on Pornhub contain child rape footage.

In a statement, Pornhub admitted that “cases of children in their videos” constitute “less than one percent of its content.” As the website has 6.8 million uploads yearly, this could mean that the total number of child rape videos on the website could be as high as 68,000 per year.

Laila Mickelwait, who National File previously covered, wrote on Twitter that Pornhub is “admitting” that “1% of videos featuring children being raped is the cost of doing business,” and that questions whether this means that “as long as [Pornhub] stays under 68,000 child rape videos per year no problem for them?”

The adult film company has faced scrutiny recently surrounding a tweet from the Pornhub official Twitter page. In this tweet, a spokesperson acknowledges the presence of child rape videos on their website. This tweet has since been removed, but can be found cached.

In spite of the bad press the adult film site has been facing, executives decided to offer free access to their premium subscriptions for the entire country of Italy to “ease coronavirus pains” during their strict quarantine.

A presence even as low as less than one percent doesn’t mean much on a site that gets roughly 42 billion views a year. According to Mickelwait teen porn  ‘has been a top 10 searched term on PornHub for years in a row.”

Mickelwait continues, “when you look at the ‘teen’ genre what you will find is girls that look 13 at best, holding teddy bears and licking lollipops while they are being aggressively penetrated by older men.”

Without the requirement for a government or photo identification, videos of trafficked women and children are being uploaded to Pornhub with ease.

The National file has previously reported on the limited vetting process that people have to go through to upload videos for profit.
