A naked man interrupted a Zoom call between Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and business leaders on Saturday.

The Sun reports that Bolsonaro was having a conference call with Economic Minister Paulo Guedes, Sao Paolo Federation of Industries leader Paulo Skaf and Brazilian business leaders when a participant decided to tune out and go for a shower, without turning off his camera beforehand.

The naked man is believed to be an adviser to Skaf’s corporate Federation. There were a total of 24 participants in the call.

The Sun provided a transcript of the call:

[The President] said: “Paulo, there’s a colleague there in the last little square, he left, is he OK?”

Minister of Industry Paulo Guedes, who was sitting next to President Bolsonaro, then said: “There is a guy having a shower there, naked.

“There’s a naked guy there, isolating naked at home, great.

“The guy was getting hot with the conversation, so he went to take a cold shower.”

Mr Bolsonaro reportedly added: “Unfortunately we saw.

“It was a shaky picture but we saw.”

Right-wing nationalist Bolsonaro has been a staunch defender of Brazilian businesses during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, pushing back on state and federal officials enforcing lockdowns in his country.

He has urged businesses to take a “hardball” approach against Sao Paolo Governor João Doria, a centrist politician who has introduced a lockdown policy in his state.

Bolsonaro has also fired two successive health ministers, Luiz Henrique Mandetta and Nelson Teich, for promoting hysteria and authoritarianism in the wake of the pandemic.

Speaking at an anti-lockdown protest last month, Bolsonaro declared that he stood for the interests of the Brazilian worker over government bureaucrats.

“The era of roguery is over. Now it’s the people who are in power,”  Bolsonaro declared.

“Everyone in Brazil must understand that they must yield to the will of the Brazilian people.”
