The newly released post apocalyptic video game, The Last of Us, 2 features a graphic anal sex scene between a male and a male-to-female transgender character.
The scene is part of a flashback where lead character Abby reminisces about her relationship with her deceased boyfriend, according to a report by Australian publication Sausage Roll. Abby is not explicitly described as trans, but it is strongly suggested throughout the game due to her very masculine physique. During the scene, Abby removes her top, revealing breasts that appear to be in the early phases of hormone replacement therapy. She then goes on to have rough anal sex with her lover.

The video game also features an Asian-American female-to-male transgender character, Lev, who was more prominently featured in the game’s promotional material.
In addition, the sequel reveals that another leading character, Ellie, who was heterosexual in the original The Last of Us game, is now a lesbian. A scene in The Last of Us 2 portrays an intense make-out session between her and another young girl.

While less than 4% of the U.S. population is LGBTQ, several of the leading characters in a video game set in a post-apocalyptic United States are LGBTQ, despite the fact that individuals dependent on hormone therapy would likely not fare well without a world class healthcare system.
Furthermore, it is not explained how the trans characters maintain access to hormone treatment, which transgenders need to take in order to maintain their transition, in the middle of an apocalypse.
The villains in the game are depicted as a Christian cult with racist and homophobic views, a rather unoriginal concept, given that very similar antagonists were portrayed in the popular Fallout and Far Cry franchises.
Sausage Roll previously reported that The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog threatened to fire anyone who questioned the LGBTQ agenda at the core of the video game:
“The team is very much divided on the game [The Last of Us Part II], and even voicing your concerns on its story will upset certain individuals; it usually results in said person being called closed-minded or even phobic, or some such nonsense. Some people literally have to bite their tongues or fear losing their jobs, even careers, to an outrage mob.”
