In a brief interview going viral on Twitter, Democrat House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler dismissed Antifa related violence in Portland as a “myth” despite hundreds of videos and media reports detailing the civil unrest gripping the city.

Austen Fletcher, known as Fleccas Talks on social media, briefly questioned the veteran Democrat representative on the violence in Portland.

“It is true. There’s violence across the whole country,” Fletcher said as the short clip starts. “Do you disavow the violence from Antifa that’s happening in Portland right now? There’s riots—”

“That’s a myth that’s being spread only in Washington, D.C.,” Nadler immediately responded.

Fletcher then clarified, “About Antifa in Portland?”

To which Nadler replied, “Yes.”

The short interview was cut even shorter as a man accompanying Nadler whisked him away from Fletcher and took him to a car.

As Nadler was escorted away, Fletcher told Nadler: “Sir, there’s videos everywhere online, there’s fires and riots, they’re throwing fireworks at federal officers. DHS is there. Look online. It gets crazy, Mr. Nadler.”

Below the initial tweet containing the brief exchange, Fletcher added a second video with the caption: “I witnessed Antifa throw a Molotov cocktail on DHS agents tonight in Portland. Is this the ‘myth’ you’re referring to?”

In a Friday press release, the Department of Justice stated that 18 people were arrested and facing federal charges for their actions in riots at the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse.

National File reported that police recovered on loaded rifle magazines and Molotov cocktails that appeared outside the courthouse at the scene of recent riots in Portland:

The Portland Police Department revealed on Sunday that while combing the area outside a federal courthouse that has been the scene of repeated clashes between rioters and police, they discovered loaded rifle magazines and Molotov cocktails that appear to have been left by the rioters.

“On July 26, 2020 while Portland Police were investigating a shots fired call near Lownsdale Square Park,” the police department revealed in a statement, “A passerby pointed out a suspicious bag to them.”

“Police examined the bag and found that it contained loaded rifle magazines and Molotov cocktails.”

The statement reveals that “Police recovered the bag,” and the “origin of this ammunition and these destructive devices is under investigation.” They ask for the public’s help in locating the individual or group responsible for bringing the weapons and ammunition to the riot.

Over the weekend, a black conservative social media influencer was stabbed as the Portland riots continued.
