The brother of Darius Sessoms, who is accused of brutally murdering an innocent five-year-old boy for the offense of running over his grass while playing outside with his sisters, is revealed to be serving a lengthy prison sentence on a statutory rape charge.
Joshua Sessoms, 27, a former North Carolina State football star and high school teacher, was sentenced to 19 years and 5 months behind bars for raping a girl aged 15 or under at his post as a science teacher at Southern Nash (Bailey, N.C.) High School. He is the brother of Cannon Hinnant’s alleged killer, Darius Sessoms, who was arrested earlier this week after allegedly shooting the young boy in the head, a week before the child was set to enter kindergarten.
According to police, the incident took place at his residence on October 6 2017, after which he was arrested and charged with statutory rape of a child 15 years old or under, statutory sex offense with a child 15 years old or under, indecent liberties with a student and felony sex act with a student, per USA Today.
On October 5 the following year, he was convicted and is now serving a lengthy term at Bertie Correctional Institution, with a current projected release date of October 26 2029.

The shock revelation comes merely days after Joshua’s younger brother, Darius, 25, was picked up from a Goldsboro household a day after being accused of shooting his neighbor’s child in the head after he rode his bicycle on his front yard.
Eyewitnesses claim that Darius was on speaking terms with the neighbor, whose son he is alleged to have executed in coldblooded fashion. Darius was reportedly seen dining with his alleged victim’s father the weekend before the murder and visited the home in a 24-hour period before the fateful gunshot.
Since the brutal murder, Cannon’s name became a trend across social and alternative media as the “Say his Name” hashtag drew thousands of messages of support. The wider mainstream media has been slow to cover the story that was beamed all over the internet.
