Republican North Carolina U.S. Senator Thom Tillis said that his Democrat opponent Cal Cunningham owes voters an explanation for his extramarital activities.

NATIONAL FILE busted Cunningham’s affair with Arlene Guzman Todd, the wife of a veteran, and a former Cunningham campaign staffer then alleged that Cunningham is also having a second affair, and that Cunningham’s other mistress who has been cheating with him since 2012 is “devastated” by the revelation of Cunningham’s affair with Arlene Guzman Todd. “Cal is trying to finesse it as an errant text. But we now have a second report. And I think Cal owes the people of North Carolina a full explanation. On the debate stage last week, Cal said it’s about integrity, and I agree,” Tillis said during his Tuesday appearance on Fox and Friends, prior to Tuesday night’s release of new texts in which Arlene Guzman Todd goes into graphic detail about her affair with Cunningham, including sleeping with the Democrat in Cunningham’s family home.

“His family should be kept private. He’s got teenage children, but Cal owes North Carolinians, all the voters, a full and thorough explanation for what we now know are two separate events. And he is an officer in the military. He’s also subject to disciplinary action, just on the basis of what he’s admitted to,” Tillis said.

Cunningham, a JAG officer, could face severe military punishment and even a year of “confinement” for committing adultery if he is found to have committed adultery while on active duty.
