Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden penned an article for in a lesser-known Chinese newspaper that caters to the Chinese demographic in New York that says, if elected, he would have a more cooperative and collaborative relationship with the Communist Chinese government of China.

Writing in the World Journal on October 22, 2020, the same day as the last presidential debate, Biden said he would, specifically, work with China on two major areas: public health and climate change.

“Our approach to China will focus on boosting American competitiveness, revitalizing our strengths at home, and renewing our alliances and leadership abroad,” Biden wrote. “We’ll work to collaborate with China when it’s in our interest, including on public health and climate change.”

The Publication Biden Chose

The World Journal, the publication in which Biden chose to publish his article, was launched in 1976 to serve Taiwanese immigrants in the United States. But since then, the publication has come under Communist Chinese influence.

The newspaper’s pro-Beijing turn was exposed in an October 2018 report on Chinese influence operations in the United States by the Hoover Institution.

The report revealed that the World Journal had “become more pro-PRC in a variety of areas, such as China’s militarization of the South China Sea and its handling of Taiwan and Hong Kong.”

The Communist Chinese Influence Is Here

That influence in the United States is exampled by the effort the Communist Chinese have put into their relationship with North Carolina’s Governor Roy Cooper (D).

John “Gaorong” Wei, a close friend of Cooper’s with strong ties to the Communist Chinese Party, often meets with the Governor and has even counseled him on how to navigate the COVID pandemic.

Mr. Wei, of Raleigh, regularly holds fundraisers and campaign-related events, sometimes on behalf of the “Chinese American Economic & Cultural Association” (CAECA), a group which Wei chairs.

In 2018, Cooper appointed Wei to the North Carolina Complete Count Coalition. This committee was responsible for coordinating and implementing the 2020 US Census in North Carolina. Many believe that appointment harkens a deeper influence for the Communist Chinese through proxies on future elections in North Carolina.
