Following the Arizona Senate’s issuing of subpoenas for the Dominion machines in Maricopa County, Republicans have turned their sights to auditing the rest of the state.
National File reported on Monday on the Arizona Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing on election integrity. During the hearing, State Senator Eddie Farnsworth announced the Arizona Senate would be issuing subpoenas to perform a full forensic audit of the Dominion Voting machines, software, and ballots used in Maricopa County.
“If we perform an audit and everything was done perfectly, that’s great, we’ve gone a long way in restoring the confidence in this process,” Farnsworth said. “We hold an audit… and then we can put this to rest.” However, he did note that this audit would not necessarily address all fraud “on the front end” of voting.
The subpoenas were then issued on Tuesday afternoon, and instructed the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to comply with a “scanned ballot audit,” using electronic ballot imaging, and a “full forensic audit” of the ballot tabulation equipment (the Dominion Voting machines), along with the software and election management system used.
Following this crucial victory, Arizona Republicans have turned their eyes to auditing the rest of the state. “Now comes the question, why wouldn’t every county want to have their ballot images scanned to help restore voter confidence in the IT systems?” Arizona State Representative Mark Finchem tweeted. “It’s a small price to pay to ensure integrity.”

Finchem, who chaired Arizona’s first hearing on election integrity, where President Trump’s legal team presented evidence of mass voter fraud, then called on “all Arizonans” to contact their county recorders and supervisors and ask “if they will ask to have their ballot images scanned to verify no fraudulent ballots were counted just to restore confidence in our elections.”
Dr Kelli Ward, the Chair of the Arizona Republicans, backed Finchem’s call for wider auditing. Ward has been one of the most vocal supporters of election integrity, and is currently sending a case to the Supreme Court on the topic.
