Confederate Flag Hating Nimrata Nikki Haley Says ‘We Shouldn’t Have Followed’ Trump

Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nimrata Nikki Haley, who is largely expected to run for President in 2024, has turned against President Donald Trump after closely aligning herself with him throughout his four years in office.

In an exclusive interview with the left-wing outlet Politico on Friday, Haley, who President Trump appointed as U.N. Ambassador, said that the President had “let us down,” and had led the country “down a path he shouldn’t have,” saying that America shouldn’t have “followed him [or] listened to him].”

Haley, who is favoured by neocons and other “principled conservatives” for a presidential run in 2024, attacked President Trump for daring to condemn former Vice President Mike Pence for not fighting hard against the mass electoral fraud seen in November’s elections. Pence had refused to use his constitutional powers to help Congress reject Electoral College votes from states with serious election integrity issues, allowing the Democrats to steal the election.

“When I tell you I’m angry, it’s an understatement,” Haley said. “I am so disappointed in the fact that [despite] the loyalty and friendship he had with Mike Pence, that he would do that to him,” she added, saying she was “disgusted” with President Trump.

The former South Carolina Governor, who hasn’t spoken to President Trump since the events at the Capitol on January 6th, said that the President has “a big bully pulpit,” and that both his words and his actions “since Election Day will be judged harshly by history.”

Haley came under fire from supporters of President Trump during her time as Governor of South Carolina, when she decided to remove the Confederate flag from being flown at the grounds of the South Carolina State House in 2015, claiming that it was “time to do so,” as while the flag is “an integral part of our past, does not represent the future of our great state.”

In a 2019 interview with Glenn Beck of The Blaze, she bragged about removing the Confederate flag, claiming that the flag represented “hate” to many people in the state, using the shooting of a black church by Dylan Roof as an excuse to remove it from the Capitol grounds.

Haley defended herself on Twitter, claiming that the “outrage media” was unfairly attacking her position on destroying American history in the name of political convenience.
