VIDEO: Massive Migrant Caravan Ferried Across Texas Border By Human Smugglers

Epoch Times reporter Charlotte Cuthbertson posted video footage to Twitter that shows a line of illegal aliens waiting along the Rio Grande riverbank to be ferried across by smugglers.

This new development in the ongoing border crisis comes after reports reveal a sharp uptick in illegal crossings at the border. The Wall Street Journal reports that January saw an increase of 75,000 new illegal crossings, compared to December, under the Trump administration. This represents a 6% increase in total illegal crossings.

Last month, the Biden Administration made headlines for cancelling border wall construction and signaling that amnesty may be in the works for millions of aliens living illegally in the United States.

As National File reported this week, a Biden administration official admitted that the current regime is responsible for the volatile migrant situation:

Biden administration coordinator for the southwestern border on the National Security Council Roberta Jacobson admitted during a Wednesday press conference that the current border crisis is a result of the Biden administration’s pro-migrant policies, and noted that the administration plans to send a staggering $4 billion to Central American communities which are “most likely” to send migrants in a desperate bid to stop the migrant crisis.

“What you’ll see is that 4 billion dollars in a Central American, Northern Triangle strategy, will be part of our foreign assistance request, and we’ll focus on the things we know, that work,” Jacobson said.

Jacobson added, “We know how to get money to communities that are most likely to send migrants but also that are suffering the greatest effects of two hurricanes this season, et cetera.”

This dramatic change in policy has prompted border officials to speak out against the changes, citing increasing threats from violence along the border and worsening conditions at  border facilities.

Pinal County Chief Deputy Sheriff Matthew Thomas told National File, “When [Mr. Trump] took office, we saw that this area out here went completely dead. Nobody was moving, nobody was smuggling because [the cartels] knew that Trump was going to put all-hands-on-deck out down here and that they would be intercepted so it came to a screeching halt.”

He continued, “It was a very slow trickle to get back to some kind of normal but it never got back to where it was.”
