FLASHBACK: Biden Repeatedly Brags About Ability to Climb Stairs, ‘Proves’ He’s Healthier Than Trump

After Joe Biden tripped over himself while attempting to board Air Force One, footage emerged from last year of him bragging of how well he climbs stairs.

As National File reported, Joe Biden fell this morning while walking up stairs to enter Air Force One. Multiple photos captured the moment the 78-year-old American president lost his footing and fell about halfway up the stairs. The Insider Paper uploaded a photo of Biden’s left leg clearly falling to the ground as he attempted to remain upright by grasping the handrail. Video footage shows him flailing around as he attempts to gather himself.

Yet in June last year, when responding to a video of President Trump slowly descending a ramp at West Point, Biden bragged about his ability to claim stairs, suggesting he was far more healthy than the President. “Look at how he steps, and look at how I step,” Biden crowed to the media. “Watch how I run up ramps and he stumbles down ramps. Okay? Come on!”

At the time, President Trump responded to the speculation regarding his health in a tweet. “The ramp that I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery,” Trump tweeted. “The last thing I was going to do is ‘fall’ for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!”

The mainstream media further questioned President Trump’s health after Biden’s comments at the time, with headlines ranging from “Trump’s Halting Walk Down Ramp Raises New Health Questions,” at the New York Times, to CNN presenters claiming he may have “neurological” health issues that would make him walk more slowly.

No such commentary or speculation regarding health has arisen from the mainstream media following Biden’s fall on the stairs this morning.
