Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was a surprise guest at the Gulf Coast Jam concert festival on Sunday — speaking to the massive crowd of music fans about how “Florida chose freedom over Fauci-ism.”
Gulf Coast Jam which featured performers like Chris Stapleton, Brooks & Dunn, and Old Dominion was the largest music festival in the US since the pandemic began.

DeSantis was greeted by cheering concertgoers as if he was a rock star himself.

DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw posted clips of the governor’s appearance and the crowd’s reaction on Twitter.
“Florida chose freedom over Fauci-ism,” DeSantis said, making the crowd go wild.
“My message for other states and other countries: open you states, open your schools, let people live their lives, don’t make them wear masks,” DeSantis added.
“Let people live their lives.”
