President Joseph Biden spoke in Philadelphia today to discuss “actions to protect the sacred, constitutional right to vote.” While he addressed concerns regarding voting rights, state audits, and the American democracy, Biden compared the election integrity fight pushed by many America First Republicans to the American Civil War, which is known for being the bloodiest conflict on American soil, having killed over 600,000 people.
Pennsylvania elected officials Governor Tom Wolf, Lt. Governor John Fetterman, and Attorney General Josh Shapiro tweeted in support of Biden and H.R.1., commonly known as the For The People Act. The For The People Act would take the election power out of state control and place it directly into the federal government’s jurisdiction. President Biden praised Democrat officials for changing voting rules prior to the 2020 election, as reported by National File.
I'm with @POTUS in Philadelphia today to echo our commitment — our duty as public officials — to protecting the sacred right to vote.
This is a critical moment for our democracy, and we will stand against all deceptive efforts to roll back your freedom to vote.

We love having President Biden in PA, but he wouldn’t even need to be here to give a speech on voting rights if Democrats in DC just voted like Democrats.
If I were in the Senate, I would proudly cast the 51st vote to abolish the filibuster and protect the right to vote. pic.twitter.com/4FHP3zNng1

While some Republicans may be scoring victories with the Big Lie in other states, let me assure you — they're not winning here in Pennsylvania. pic.twitter.com/A9nELagCRy

Conservative commentators, outlets, and politicians pushed back against Biden labeling Republicans as terrorists. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert tweeted “Joe Biden thinks that asking people to show ID to vote is the greatest threat to our nation since the Civil War. Let that sink in.” President Biden said in his remarks that “Trump supporters are worse than slave owning Confederates.”
Biden painting his opponents as terrorists: "There's an unfolding assault taking place in America today, an attempt to suppress and subvert the right to vote in fair and free elections. An assault on democracy, an assault on liberty. An assault on who we are." pic.twitter.com/uB7SORubzR

If you looked up "hyperbole" in a dictionary, calling relatively basic voting integrity measures like requiring an ID to vote absentee the "biggest threat to our democracy since the Civil War" would literally be its definition https://t.co/yfdnxRA2um

BIDEN: "We're facing the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War. That's not hyperbole, since the Civil War."
The President of Unity and Peace ladies and gentlemen
And they said Trump’s rhetoric was radicalizing

The "worst challenge to our democracy since the Civil War" is the Biden Administration's attempts to stop state-ordered audits.

During a speech today in Philadelphia, host Biden said ‘Trump supporters are worse than slave owning Confederates’.
That’s some evil stuff right there.

Biden says Trump supporters are worse than slave-owning Confederates: "We are facing the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War. That's not hyperbole…The Confederates back then never breached the Capitol as insurrectionists did"

One day before President Biden’s speech in Philadelphia, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the current voting system is “the worst challenge to our democracy since the Civil War.”
