Are Biden’s officials really interested in concluding negotiations with Iran or are they just pretending to negotiate to provide cover for Iran while Iran rushes to a nuclear breakthrough?
On July 14 , 2015, Daniel Greenfield wrote in Frontpage Magazine that Obama signed the nuclear deal with Iran to cripple American power in the Middle East:
…Obama did not go into this to stop Iran from going nuclear. He did it to turn Iran into the axis of the Middle East…supporting Iran is his way of blocking the power of his successors in the White House to pursue a more pro-American foreign policy…
…Obama claims to “have stopped the spread of nuclear weapons” by allowing Iran to keep enhancing its nuclear program and rewarding it with ballistic missiles for its “peaceful” intentions. He claims to have negotiated “from a position of strength and principle” when in fact he surrendered to the Iranians on position after position. Tehran negotiated from strength and principle. Obama sold out America…
…Obama and Kerry have not made this deal as representatives of the United States, but as representatives of a toxic ideology that views America as the cause of all that is wrong in the world. This is not an agreement that strengthens us and keeps us safe, but an agreement that weakens us and endangers us negotiated by men who believe that a strong Iran is better than a strong America…
…Their ideology is that of the screaming anti-war protester denouncing American forces and foreign policy anywhere and everywhere, whose worldview has changed little since crying, “Ho! Ho! Ho Chi Minh. NLF is going to win” in the streets. The only difference is that he now wears an expensive suit…”
Obama was interviewed at this very same time and was bold enough to say that, “Iran Will Be And Should Be A Regional Power.”
Since the Biden/Obama Administration took over, Obama’s insane policies from the past were revived at a record pace. One of these policies was to make Iran a regional power in the Middle East, something Trump and the sane world went against. By isolating Iran and putting in place sanctions, and destroying ISIS in the Middle East, President Trump was able to put in place peace deals around the region. Biden/Obama clearly did not want that.
The latest events in the Iranian nuclear program and its related negotiations provide evidence that Trump’s deals that led to peace in the Middle East are not something they want.
On April 19, 2021, World Nuclear News reported:
Iran on 17 April began enriching uranium up to 60%, after previously notifying the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of its intention to do so. Enrichment to 60% uranium-235 is being carried out in two cascades of IR-4 and IR-6 centrifuges at the Natanz facility.”
On May 19, 2021, CSIS reported:
Talks in Vienna aimed at allowing the United States and Iran to return to compliance with the 2015 Iran nuclear deal ended on May 19 having made further progress but still falling short of a final agreement on what that return would look like. Differences remain over U.S. sanctions relief and the required nuclear steps by Iran.”
On May 26, 2021, the Businessinsider reported:
Iran is enriching uranium up to purity levels that “only countries making bombs are reaching,” the head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog warned in an interview with the Financial Times.
“A country enriching at 60% is a very serious thing — only countries making bombs are reaching this level,” Rafael Grossi, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told the Times.”
On June 21, 2021, Time reported:
Iran missed a midnight deadline to renew its temporary atomic-monitoring pact with international inspectors, raising the prospect that it could delete sensitive enrichment information and complicating broader negotiations in Vienna to revive its nuclear accord with world powers…
IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi has been warning for weeks that failure to extend the pact would degrade international understanding of Iran’s nuclear program just as the country massively steps up uranium enrichment with advanced new technologies…”
On July 12, 2021, Reuters reported:
The United States will not impose a deadline on a seventh round of talks with Iran to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, but only Tehran can determine when talks will resume, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said on Monday.”
On July 17, 2021, Detroit News reported:
In a pair of tweets from his verified account, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said the nuclear talks in Vienna could not resume until Iran’s hardline president-elect is inaugurated in early August. “We’re in a transition period as a democratic transfer of power is underway in our capital,” he said.
Overall, the Biden/Obama Administration is following Obama’s steps in paving the way for an Iranian nuclear weapon. Peace is not an objective and there is no rush to get a deal in place.
Because if the Biden/Obama Administration were to have a deal and if Iran were to use an atomic bomb against Israel or any of its neighbors, this would look bad on the current Administration.
Maybe they decided waiting it out is a better strategy than putting another insane deal in place.
