NEW: Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Prison in Gretchen Whitmer Kidnapping Plot (Which Included 12 FBI Informants)

Ty Garbin

A 25-year-old Michigan man on Wednesday was sentenced to 75 months in prison, three years of probation and a $2,500 fine in the Governor Whitmer kidnapping plot.

Ty Garbin was the only one out of a dozen men facing federal and state charges in the Whitmer plot who pleaded guilty.

Five men facing federal charges pleaded not guilty and will face trial in October.

NBC News reported:

A Michigan man who admitted taking part in an extremist group’s plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in retaliation for Covid restrictions was sentenced Wednesday to over 6 years in prison.

Garbin was sentenced on Wednesday to 75 months in prison, followed by three years of probation, and a $2,500 fine by U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker.

During the sentencing hearing, Garbin apologized to Whitmer, who was not present.

“First, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and her family,” he told the court. “I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on my actions and I never realized what my actions would have caused to her, but also her family.”

“I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of stress and fear her family members felt because of my actions, and for that I’m truly sorry.”

In October 2020, the FBI announced during a press conference that it thwarted a plot by a so-called “right-wing militia” to kidnap and kill Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and overthrow the state government.

The Whitmer kidnapping plot was in the media 24/7 and used to bludgeon Trump with just a few weeks to go until Election Day.

We now know the FBI used at least 12 informants (with only 6 defendants) in the Michigan Whitmer kidnapping case and hatched the plot.

There are 6 defendants and 12 FBI informants.

Last week Michael Hills, an attorney for Brandon Caserta, one of the six defendants, produced text messages showing an FBI field agent telling an informant to lie, frame an innocent man and delete text messages.

It is illegal for FBI informants to hatch plots and encourage violence.
