On Thursday, two IEDs were set off by suicide bombers in the crowd outside the Kabul airport.
Initial reports claimed that there were just over a dozen killed in the blasts, but now over 40 have been pronounced dead and there are 120 wounded that have been transferred to the hospital – most of whom are in critical condition.
Sadly, the number of casualties is expected to continue to rise as updates are made available.
4 US MARINES WERE AMONG THOSE KILLED IN THE ATTACK.
According to the New York Times:
“One Afghan health official said at least 30 people were confirmed dead and at least 120 wounded. Another health official said at least 40 were dead and 120 wounded. both officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Taliban told them not the brief the press.”
The explosions occurred near the Baron Hotel outside the where the US and UK used as a meeting place for stranded citizens on their way out of the country.

US officials had received credible threats about an attack beforehand, but took minimal effort to stop them – And now Americans have paid the price with their lives.
