Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Thursday morning said the Senate will pass a stopgap funding bill to avoid a shutdown.
The Senate Republicans have blocked Schumer’s attempt to raise the debt ceiling twice in one week.
Government funding expires at 11:59:59 pm et Thursday.
Speaking from the senate floor, McConnell said the stopgap bill will be passed “without the poison pill of a debt limit increase.”
