DEVELOPING: Reports of Active Shooter at Fred Meyer Grocery Store in Washington State – Injuries Reported – Suspect at Large

An active shooter was reported at a Fred Meyer grocery store in Richland, Washington late Monday morning.

Richland police told people to stay clear of the area.

At least two schools in the area are on lockdown.

As of noon local time, the suspect still had not been located, according to Richland police.

Kennewick Police Department posted pictures of the suspect and said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

White male aged 45-55 last seen in a flannel shirt; fled the scene in a white pickup truck.

Medics are on the scene amid reports of injuries.

Richland police were called Monday morning to the Fred Meyer store for a possible active shooter.

Initial broadcast reports were that at least one person was wounded inside the store by a man with a handgun.

Employees and customers were hiding and sheltering in place in stock rooms, restrooms, the pharmacy and offices until police could reach them to escort them out safely, according to reports.

Richland High, Carmichael Middle, River’s Edge High, Marcus Whitman Elementary, Lewis and Clark Elementary and Christ the King School were on lockdown during the search, according to school officials.
