Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently claimed that “equity” was one of America’s founding principles. The DHS head made the remarks during an event hosted by Al Sharpton’s National Action Network.
“It is all about achieving equity, which is really the core founding principle of our country,” Alejandro Mayorkas declared during a speech. “We, as a Department of Homeland Security are your Department of Homeland Security as much as anyone else’s and we need to live that in the equity that we demonstrate,” the DHS head continued.
“Equity” is a vague term often used by social justice activists to push leftist social agendas. Schools and places of business across the country are forming “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” departments where “DEI consultants” are paid exuberant sums to push a leftist agenda namely on race, gender and sexuality.
In another recent statement, Alejandro Mayorkas claimed that “white supremacists” are America’s greatest national security threat. This is a claim that has been repeated by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on numerous occasions as well.
Under the direction of Merrick Garland and Alejandro Mayorkas, both the DOJ and DHS have formed counter terrorism task forces designed to confront the supposed homegrown terror threat. Both federal departments have used vague language when describing the supposed terrorists and often use criteria that applies to everyday conservatives. A recent DHS memo described those who question the 2020 election, vaccine skeptics and purveyors of “misinformation” as national security threats.
Last November, the DOJ formed a counter terrorism task force that will confront “anti-authority ideologies”, including the aforementioned groups and sets of beliefs. “We’ve seen a growing threat from those who are motivated by racial animus, as well as those who ascribe to extremist anti-government and anti-authority ideologies,” Deputy AG Matt Olsen said at the time.
