‘I’m Killing The Babies’: Pro-Abortion Extremists Swarm NYC Cathedral

Dozens of pro-abortion extremists blocked the entrance to NYC’s St. Patrick’s cathedral on Saturday morning. In response to the planned pro-abortion demonstrations across NYC, the NYPD has increased its patrols around churches. Leftist demonstrators blame the Catholic church for the leaked Roe v. Wade draft opinion, as six of nine current Supreme Court justices are Catholic.

The demonstrators gathered in front of the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in Manhattan on Saturday morning. They stood just feet from a group of anti-abortion protesters who typically walk from the church to a nearby Planned Parenthood site on the first Saturday of every month, according to WNYW-TV.

“I’m killing the babies!” one protester, who was wearing a one-piece, yelled while waving a baby doll. Another set up a picture of the Virgin Mary inside a uterus and placed it in front of a group of people who gathered to defend the church.

“We’re proud to see members of our Catholic Caucus @CatholicNYYRC standing up for their beliefs and for the fundamental rights of all unborn Americans,” wrote the New York Young Republican Club in a tweet.

NYC had been planning for pro-abortion protests over the weekend, which continued into Sunday.

The far-left group “Ruth Sent Us” called on its followers to storm Catholic churches. “Whether you’re a ‘Catholic for Choice,’ ex-Catholic, of other or no faith, recognize that six extremist Catholics set out to overturn Roe,” the group wrote in a tweet. “Stand at or in a local Catholic Church Sun May 8. #WarOnWomen #MothersDayStrike.”

Catholic churches across the country have braced for potential violence from pro-abortion extremists. In Colorado, a Catholic church was tagged with pro-abortion graffiti while a number of its windows were broken.

The Supreme Court is expected to finalize a ruling on the issue by the end of June.
