Norwegian Ethics Professor Calls for Normalization of Pedophilia

A Norwegian professor of ethics is calling for the normalization of pedophilia in schools and wider society. Ole Martin Moen, a professor of ethics at Oslo Metropolitan University, said that “the mental state of finding children sexually attractive is very common,” according to Reduxx. The professor believes that pedophilia should be seen as an innate sexuality that should not be stigmatized and has called for AI-generated child pornography to be legalized.

Moen, a gay man who identifies as “queer,” currently serves as a member of the advisory board on Norway’s Patient Organization for Gender-Incongruence (PKI), which was described by Reduxx as a “social and political lobby group for trans rights.”

According to the organization’s official website, PKI aims to provide “gender-affirming treatment” to the public “regardless of factors like non-binary identity, sexual practice or having other diagnosis.”

“Pedophilia is bad. But how bad is it? And in what ways, and for what reasons, is it bad?” Moen wrote in a 2015 paper titled “The Ethics of Pedophilia,” which was then republished in The Palgrave Handbook of Philosophy and Public Policy, a textbook used in universities around the world.

“In this paper it is argued that pedophilia is bad only because, and only to the extent that, it causes harm to children, and that pedophilia itself, as well as pedophilic expressions and practices that do not cause harm to children, are morally alright [sic],” reads the paper’s abstract.

Moen ultimately argued that “adult-child sex is not categorically very harmful” but may result in “risks” of children being harmed. The professor went on to argue that pedophilia is an innate sexual attraction that should not be stigmatized and likened it to homosexuality.

“We must appreciate that sexual attraction towards children is often a deep and integral part of pedophiles’ personalities,” Moen wrote. He argued that pedophiles should not be held responsible for their actions because “many pedophiles are ignorant of the truth that adult-child sex exposes children to [harm].”

In terms of policy, Ole Martin Moen has called for computer generated child pornography to be legalized. The ethics professor has lobbied to “legalize AI-generated child pornography, claiming that pedophilia should be seen as an innate sexuality that requires destigmatization.”

The pro-pedophilia professor has been in the news recently for his role in targeting Christina Ellingsen. The Norwegian feminist is facing up to three years in prison for tweeting that a biological male cannot become a lesbian woman.
