At least three people were shot at a Birmingham, Alabama church on Thursday evening.
The gunman is in custody.
One person is dead and two others are injured after a gunman opened fire at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Vestavia Hills, according to police.

Police were called to the church at 6:22 pm and they are still clearing the area.

According to Rev. Kelley Hudlow with the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama, there were no known threats against the church.
