‘F**k America:’ Green Day Lead Singer is ‘Renouncing’ U.S. Citizenship Over Roe Decision

Billie Joe Armstrong, the longtime lead singer of the rock band “Green Day,” announced that he is “renouncing” his American citizenship and moving to the U.K. “F**k America,” Armstrong said during a London concert.

“There’s too much f***ing stupid in the world to go back to that miserable f**king excuse for a country,” Armstrong, 50, told his audience. The audience “burst into tears as Armstrong shared his thoughts on the decision, according to iHeartRadio.

“Oh, I’m not kidding, you’re going to get a lot of me in the coming days,” he continued, adding that he plans to move to the United Kingdom.

This was not the first time that Armstrong and Green Day have expressed anti-American sentiment. The band’s 2004 record titled “American Idiot” is highly critical of American life.

In-concert political lectures are also not uncommon for Green Day. Armstrong repeatedly referred to President Trump as a “fascist” and a “white supremacist” during his term as president. He blames “uneducated white working-class people” for Trump’s rise and has supported Bernie Sanders in the past.

Most recently, the long washed-up band performed in front of a “F**K Ted Cruz” banner while on their European tour.

It remains to be seen whether Billie Joe Armstrong will follow through with his pledge to leave the United States forever. A number of celebrities, including Tommy Lee, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend said they would leave the country if Trump was elected in 2016.

Not one of them followed through with their promises, however.
