Video: Rand Paul Vows A ‘Day Of Reckoning Is Coming’, The American People Will ‘Rise Up’

Last Updated on July 25, 2022

GOP Sen. Rand Paul told Fox News’ Sean Hannity a “day of reckoning” is coming to America as crime continues to climb in metropolitan areas.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) slammed Democrats over increased violence and abrasive rhetoric used towards Republican legislators.

Referencing minimal media coverage of the violent attack a radical Leftist carried out on Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) last week, Paul suggested “the left wing is egging this on.”

“And if we want to end this [violence] we have to start locking people up,” Sen. Paul added.

Calling for accountability in crime-ridden areas like New York, the Senator said Americans are fed up with the lack of law and order in the country.

“There’s going to come a day of reckoning where the people who live in New York City – crime disproportionately affects those in poor neighborhoods and those who are minorities.”

“Kids are dying at the bus stop. Kids are dying on the subway. The Democrats don’t care about your kids. And it continues to happen decade after decade,” the U.S. Senator added.

“There’s going to be a day that people are going to wake up and say, ‘We’ve had enough. We’re going to vote for law and order.’ And Lee Zeldin is the law and order candidate,” Paul continued.

“So I think there is a chance that people will say, ‘I don’t care, Black, White, whatever. I’m not associated with any party. I want a stop to the crime and we have to put people in jail.’ I think that’s coming,” the GOP Senator concluded.

Sen. Paul reminded Fox viewers how he was violently assaulted in 2017, suffering six broken ribs. He claimed one media outlet called the “violence against me was justified.”

Last week, Rep. Lee Zeldin, the GOP nominee in the New York gubernatorial race, was giving a speech when a man climbed on the stage and attempted to stab the candidate.

His words as he tried to stab me a few hours ago were “you’re done”, but several attendees, including @EspositoforNY, quickly jumped into action & tackled the guy. Law enforcement was on the scene within minutes. The attacker will likely be instantly released under NY’s laws,” Zeldin posted to Twitter following the attack.

The alleged attacker, a 43-year-old New Yorker, was released from jail within hours of being arrested.

Major crime has surged in New York City, increasing 37% this year, according to NYPD data.
