Poll Finds January 6 Committee Has Had No Impact on Public Opinion

A new poll by Monmouth University shows that the much heralded January 6 Committee has had virtually no impact whatsoever on public opinion.

Well, this is awkward.

The numbers show that fewer Americans, 64 per cent down from 65 per cent before the hearings, believe that happened at the Capitol represented a “riot.”

Only 2 per cent more Americans believe what happened was an “insurrection” (52 per cent), while an increase of 1 per cent (35 per cent total) believe it to have been a “legitimate protest.”

4 per cent fewer believe Trump was “directly responsible” for the incident, while only an additional 2 per cent said the hearings changed their mind (8 per cent total).

The survey illustrates how, just like the Trump impeachment trials, the January 6 investigation has been all sound and fury signifying nothing.

Some observers think that last night’s FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate is about more than just the alleged mishandling of White House documents.

They believe the feds were on a fishing expedition to try to find something, anything, to implicate Trump in the incitement or planning of the January 6 riot, illustrating Democrats’ desperation.

Given that there is no evidence whatsoever to prove that, others have even suggested the FBI could have planted it.

Surely they’d never do that!
