Department of Justice (DOJ) officials have revealed they will be returning passports the FBI seized from former President Donald Trump during their raid on his personal residence in Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
In a Monday email to Trump representatives, the DOJ’s National Security Division’s Jay Bratt explained how the passports were unrelated to the FBI investigation into Trump, and would be returned.
“We are returning them, and they will be ready for pickup at (the Washington Field Office) at 2 pm today,” Bratt said in his email.
As National File previously reported, Trump had three of his passports “stolen” during the August 8th FBI raid.
“Wow! In the raid by the FBI of Mar-a-Lago, they stole my three Passports (one expired), along with everything else,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
“This is an assault on a political opponent on a level never before seen in our Country. Third World!”

The FBI raid on the former president’s home was approved by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and unsealed documents from the DOJ show Trump is being investigated for allegedly taking classified documents from the White House.
According to Trump, the FBI agents who entered his house in the middle of the night “rummaged through” Melania Trump’s clothes and “personal items,” leaving a “relative mess.”
“….Just learned that agents went through the First Lady’s closets and rummaged through her clothing and personal items. Surprisingly, left area in a relative mess. Wow,” the 45th President posted on Truth Social.
The FBI raid has sent shockwaves throughout the GOP. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said Sunday that fourteen whistleblowers from the FBI have contacted his office to complain about the politicization of the once-esteemed bureau.
Rep. Jordan said the DOJ’s raid on former President Trump “has shattered” the public’s confidence in the justice system.
