FEC Data Details Excessive Spending by RNC Under Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel

Last Updated on December 19, 2022

An analysis of data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) shows the exorbitant spending made by the GOP under its current chairwoman, Ronna Romney McDaniel, whose resignation many have called for in the midst of the lukewarm performance by Republicans in the recent elections.

“You’re flying on private plans with the money that sweet, terrified Republican voters have sent to you from the middle of the country and you’re losing elections,” FOX News host Tucker Carlson said on Saturday. “If you win elections, well, we can talk about it. If you’re losing, get out. We cannot reward incompetence.”

Some of the expenditures made by the RNC during its 2021-2022 election cycle.

According to files submitted to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the Republican National Committee (RNC) has spent:

  • $17.1 million on donor mementos.
  • $3.1 million on private jet service.
  • $80,000 on alcohol.
  • $1.3 million on Limouisine/chauffeur service.

One expense was a ticket for a private box at game for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL), which cost $30,000. According to a senior staffer, the NFL game was part of a “retreat” for senior staff.

An additional $12,000 was spent at Vineyard Vines, payment for embroidered jackets which RNC staff received recently, according to an RNC vendor.

Barrow County Georgia GOP Executive Committee Rep. Laura Petcu (04) spoke with The National File on Monday about the RNC Chairwoman McDaniel.

“Time for Ronna to move on. I’m not even bringing up the money wasted right now. We need someone at the help to support the grassroots, not work against them. She represents the establishment and that has to change,” Petcu said.
