Elon Musk to Quit as Twitter CEO When He Finds a “Foolish Enough” Replacement

Elon Musk says he will quit as Twitter CEO, but only after he finds a “foolish enough” replacement to take on the role.

As we highlighted yesterday, Musk initially ran a poll on Twitter asking users if he should step down as CEO, but after suggestions were made that the survey had been manipulated by bots, the space pioneer appeared to have second thoughts.

The poll results found a majority of 57.5% of respondents wanted Musk to vacate the position.

However, an actual poll by Harris with real people taking part in the survey produced the opposite result, with 61% expressing a desire to see Musk stay on.

Leftists keen on seeing the Tesla founder exercise less power over the platform were celebrating in the belief that Musk was about to become a background figure.

However, Musk has made it clear that he won’t go until a suitable replacement is found, something that may be near impossible.

“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams,” said Musk in response to the poll result.

Musk had previously insisted that, “No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive.”

Meanwhile, BBC News reports that “civil liberties groups” are keen to see Musk’s power diluted, because he is failing to appease them when it comes to “content moderation.”

Strange world where “civil liberties groups” are the ones lobbying for censorship and suppression of free speech, isn’t it?
