Christmastime looting ravaged Buffalo, New York in the wake of a blizzard that sparked relative anarchy in New York State’s second-biggest city. At least 28 people are dead in Buffalo reportedly due to the blizzard. The weather conditions sparked some Buffalo residents to seize on the opportunity for a five-finger discount.

Byron Brown, the mayor of Buffalo, standing next to New York governor Kathy Hochul, called looting “reprehensible” and said “I don’t know how these people can even live with themselves, how they can look at themselves in the mirror. They are the lowest of the low.”
