Zelensky Will Give A ‘Special Message Of Peace’ At Golden Globes Ceremony

The president of Ukraine will make an appearance at the 2023 Golden Globes ceremony.

Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky will deliver a “special message of peace” at the ceremony, which will take place Tuesday in Beverly Hills, California.

“Also participating in the telecast is Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy [sic], offering a special message of peace which will be introduced by Sean Penn,” the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Monday, according to Breitbart.

Similar to U.S. politicians, a multitude of Hollywood celebrities have acted as cheerleaders for the Ukrainian president. Actor Sean Penn dramatically gave the Ukrainian president his Oscar award in November and has visited Zelensky three times since the start of the Russia/Ukraine conflict. Ben Stiller, another popular actor, met with Zelensky in June, calling him his “hero.”

Additionally, Democrats and Republicans have offered unyielding amounts of financial aid and support. Immediately following Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) being elected House Speaker, Zelensky requested more financial support from the U.S. government.

“Congratulations to @GOPLeader on his election as the Speaker of the [US] House of Representatives. US support in all fields has been vital for [Ukraine’s] success on the battlefield. We’re counting on your continued support and further U.S. assistance to bring our common victory closer,” Zelensky tweeted.

In April, Zelensky was lauded in Hollywood after he appeared virtually at the Grammy Awards ceremony. Social media users questioned why the president of the foreign country spoke at the American pop culture event.

“Some of us are old enough to remember when the United Nations was the place where these discussions took place,” one Twitter user joked.

“If politics were genuine, why would Zelensky be speaking at the Grammys?” another questioned.
