Harris Gets Roasted Over ‘Little League’ Speech to Howard Basketball Team

Vice President Kamala Harris is being roasted over her post-game address to the Howard Men’s Basketball team after the squad was bounced from the NCAA tournament in the first round.

“You guys are so good. You played so hard. You played til the very last second,” Harris, a Howard alumnus, told the team. “You made all us Bison so, so proud…You showed the world who Bison are.”

Vice President Harris then praised the team for the achievement of making the tournament and winning their conference.

“You know, I was at Howard back in the day where we were just happy that there was a game, much less getting to this place. Right?” she continued. “And I see Bison literally all over the world and we’ve been talking about you. This team, you make us so proud.”

“Now I know you may not be feeling great right now. Okay? But know who you are. You are excellence.”

The vice president’s comments were promptly roasted on social media, with numerous Twitter users comparing her remarks to those of a little league coach. “Kamala Harris is the worst public speaker on the planet. She addressed the Howard basketball team yesterday after their loss to Kansas. And it sounds like me talking to my five-year-old team when the little league season ends,” said Outkick founder Clay Travis.

“You lose in March Madness and this kindergarten teacher who put people in jail for smoking weed comes into the locker-room and talks to you like you’re 12? Come on bro,” wrote Barstool Sports reporter Jack Maguire. “Why does it always sound like she’s talking to second-graders? So condescending,” said independent reporter Caleb Parke.

While attending Thursday’s game at the Wells Fargo arena in Des Moines, Iowa, Harris was shown on the stadium scoreboard on multiple occasions. According to a report from the New York Post, she received more boos than cheers.
