DeSantis Mega Donor Paying for Lies Against Trump

Donald Trump’s legal team released a letter on Thursday stating that LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman is funding E.Jean Carroll’s lawsuit against Trump. Hoffman has previously said he plans to back DeSantis to stop Trump. Hoffman has had to apologize in the past for his ties to Jeffery Epstein.

Trump’s legal team letter read, “The eleventh-hour disclosure that Plaintiff’s legal fees are being subsidized by American Future Republic and Reid Hoffman is troubling and raises significant questions that require further investigation. Based upon the defense counsel’s initial research, there appears to be little to no publicly available information on American Future Republic, aside from the fact that it is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization entity funded by Reid Hoffman, the billionaire founder of LinkedIn.”

The letter also exposed Hoffman’s ties to the Democrats, “Hoffman is one of the largest donors to the Democratic party—reportedly “one of the most influential Democratic donors of the Trump era” 3 —and a vocal critic of Defendant and his political policies. In fact, Hoffman is on record stating that he would “‘spend as much as [he] possibly can’ to avoid another Trump presidency,” the letter read.

In the past, Hoffman has told associates he plans to back Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ White House bid to stop Trump. According to associates of Hoffman, Hoffman does not view DeSantis as a “threat to Democracy,” unlike how he views Trump.

Hoffman has had to apologize for helping Jeffery Epstein salvage his reputation. Hoffman is on record saying “My last interaction with Epstein was in 2015. Still, by agreeing to participate in any fundraising activity where Epstein was present, I helped to repair his reputation and perpetuate injustice. For this, I am deeply regretful.”

Ron DeSantis has yet to announce if he will accept any donations from Reid Hoffman or his organizations.
