Polling Shows Tucker More Liked than Fox News

Newly released polling from Rasmussen Reports finds that Tucker Carlson has higher favorability than Fox News. Polling also shows that most voters believe Tucker’s departure from Fox will negatively affect the network. In addition, last week Tucker’s Twitter video received higher ratings than all Fox News shows combined.

Rasmussen Reports asked voters, “Do you have a very favorable, somewhat favorable, somewhat unfavorable, or very unfavorable impression of Tucker Carlson?” 59 percent of voters answered that they have a somewhat or very favorable view of Tucker Carlson. In a breakdown by party, 71% of Republicans, 48% of Democrats, and 55% of Independents have a somewhat or very favorable view of Carlson.

Voters were then asked, “Do you have a very favorable, somewhat favorable, somewhat unfavorable, or very unfavorable impression of Fox News Channel?” 52 percent of voters answered that they have a somewhat or very favorable view of Fox News.

The last question asked to voters “Tucker Carlson recently left Fox News Channel. Will the departure of Tucker Carlson make Fox News better or worse? Or will it not make much difference?” 32 percent of voters answered that Tucker leaving Fox would make the network worse compared to 19 percent who said Tucker’s departure would make Fox better.

Ratings seem to reflect current polling results. Last week Fox News lost an astonishing 56 percent of its viewers during the 8 pm hour. On the other hand, Tucker’s April 26th Twitter video received more views than all Fox News programming combined for that date.

Rumors are swirling as to what Tucker Carlson will do next. Congressman Matt Gaetz recently wrote, “OMG wait till everyone sees what @TuckerCarlson has planned…”

Fox News has announced that Libertarian and former Obama Campaign staffer Lawrence Jones will fill Tucker’s time slot this week. Last week DeSantis and GOP Establishment supporter Brian Kilmeade filled Tucker’s time slot. Fox has yet to name a permanent replacement for Carlson.
