Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron won the state’s GOP Gubernatorial Primary by a huge margin on Tuesday night. Cameron was endorsed by Trump. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis endorsed Kelly Craft in the race. Craft finished in third place. Polling before DeSantis’ endorsement of Craft showed Craft in second place.
After winning the GOP nomination on Tuesday, Daniel Cameron told his supporters, ” The Trump culture of winning is alive and well in Kentucky.”

Cameron cruised to victory, receiving 47.7% of the vote. Ryan Quarles came in second, receiving 21.7%. DeSantis-backed Kelly Craft came in third, only receiving 17.2% of the vote.
Interestingly a Fox56 Emerson Poll taken before Ron DeSantis’ endorsement of Craft showed Daniel Cameron leading Kelly Craft by 30.1% to 23.9%. Craft lost 23 points on Cameron and fell to third place following DeSantis’ endorsement of her.
In Iowa over the weekend, DeSantis spoke about “ending the GOP’s culture of losing.” It was believed DeSantis made those comments to dig at Donald Trump. However, DeSantis’ epic failure in Kentucky leads many to believe the Florida Governor put the cart before the horse.
Donald Trump took to TruthSocial to congratulate Daniel Cameron on his win, writing, “Congratulations to a “star” in Kentucky, Danial Cameron, who easily won the Republican Nomination for Governor. He had my Complete and Total Endorsement. The DeSanctimonious backed candidate came in a DISTANT third. Ron’s magic is GONE! He also lost, shockingly, in Jacksonville last night (Mayor).”
NationalFile previously reported that RealClearPolitics polling shows Donald Trump with the largest lead he’s ever had on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. GOP Primary polling for the State of New York that was released on Tuesday shows Ron DeSantis polling in the single digits.
Despite mounting losses, DeSantis is expected to announce he is running for president soon. Tuesday night’s Kentucky election result is likely a preview for the 2024 GOP Presidential Primary.
