One of Ron DeSantis’ top advisors John Cardillo, spread misinformation about a Trump crowd size in Iowa. Cardillo tweeted a video of Trump at a radio station in Iowa and claimed it was an open campaign event. Thousands have seen the video and as of now, Twitter has not applied community notes to Cardillo’s video leading many to question if Elon Musk and Twitter’s new globalist CEO are turning the platform into a defacto pro-DeSantis Super Pac.
Cardillo tweeted the inaccurate video with an erroneous caption that read, “Six or seven people showed up to meet Trump at this Iowa venue. People are over him. The push polls are WAY off.”

However, if someone watches the video, one can clearly tell that a WHO radio sign is right behind Trump’s head, clearly indicating that Trump is at a radio station and not a campaign rally.
A Trump campaign press release from earlier this week said Trump would be conducting an interview with WHO radio in Iowa, “President Trump will appear in-studio with Simon Conway of 1040 WHO Des Moines for an interview.”
Twitter has yet to apply community notes to Cardillo’s tweet. Some are questioning if this points to the fact that Elon Musk and Twitter’s new globalist CEO are backing DeSantis and using the social media platform as a defacto DeSantis Super Pac. Trump supporters have been complaining that their feeds are filled with DeSantis influencers despite the fact that these Trump supporters do not follow anyone on Team DeSantis.
I’m muting DeSantis “influencers”.
They are constantly in my feed.

This is not the first time Team DeSantis has lied to GOP voters. National File previously reported on National Weather Service data that confirmed there was a tornado outbreak in the Des Monies Iowa region on the date Trump was to have his rally. Team DeSantis recently stated that Trump canceled his April Iowa rally due to crowd size and there were no tornados in the region.
DeSantis is attempting to pitch himself as a stand-up guy to GOP voters. However, actions like Cardillo’s are allowing GOP voters to see right through Team DeSantis’ globalist lies. Many believe this is why DeSantis poll numbers have plummeted.
The Iowa Caucus kicks off in early 2024.
