Loomer Exposes McCarthy-Backed CA GOP Plan to Give RNC Delegates to LOSING Candidate

Last Updated on July 5, 2023

Laura Loomer exposed the fact that the Kevin McCarthy-backed California GOP changed their party rules from a winner take all system, meaning that now, the runner-up in the California GOP Primary will also receive a large share of delegates. California awards the most GOP delegates out of any state, so even if DeSantis gets a distant second, he could still be awarded enough delegates to give his campaign a chance to win the GOP nomination. In 2016, Ted Cruz and John Kasich teamed up in an attempt to block Trump from receiving the required number of delegates. Loomer has correctly pointed out that many who were on Team Cruz in 2016, like Jenna Ellis, are now on Team DeSantis.

The California GOP claims the RNC forced them to make the change from a winner take all system after Gavin Newsom moved up the state’s primary date.

Loomer responded to these claims in a tweet that read, “.@CAGOP has been forced to issue a public statement after I exposed their back door plan to change the Presidential Primary bylaws. 1. ‘Recently’ doesn’t apply because you did this on June 17. You never disclosed it till I exposed the internal CAGOP documents. 2. Notice how CAGOP’s statement below conveniently leaves out the part about how they are deliberately choosing to screw President Trump out of the long-standing California 50% winner take all threshold. These people are snakes. Caught red handed and still lying through their teeth. The rules clearly state that a state can keep their winner take all threshold. CAGOP is trying to confuse voters with RNC jargon and now they are lying to cover up their procedural gimmick that was designed to sabotage Donald Trump.”

Adding more intrigue to the story, Ron DeSantis endorsed Harmeet Dhillon for RNC Chair. Dhillon is one of California’s RNC National Committeewomen. Loomer exposed that Dhillon liked tweets critical of President Trump.

The California GOP’s rebuttal to Loomer leaves many questions that Speaker McCarthy and Ms. Dhillon must answer.

First, suppose the California GOP is correct, and the RNC forced them to change their delegate allocation rule. In that case, why didn’t House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Ms. Dhillon inform California and national GOP voters about the rule change?

Surely, the RNC would take the opinion of the United States House Speaker seriously, so why didn’t McCarthy lead a delegation from California to the RNC Meetings and force a vote on the rule change?

These unanswered questions make clear that McCarthy and his Calforina GOP allies are no friends of the MAGA movement.

McCarthy and the rest running the California GOP seem to believe they know better than the GOP voters.
