DeSantis Supporter Chip Roy Votes for CR that Funds Biden DOJ Witch Hunts

Last Updated on September 29, 2023

Ron DeSantis supporter Chip Roy voted Yes for the McCarthy-McConnell Continuing Resolution that funds the Biden DOJ’s witch hunts against Trump and his supporters. For the last month, Roy has been putting on a performance acting like he would hold Biden accountable. However, when it came time to take meaningful congressional action, Roy folded.

Donald Trump posted a warning to House and Senate Republicans Friday not to fold on any CR that continues the witch hunts against him and his supporters. Trump wrote, ” I hear that Old Crow Mitch McConnell, together with his small band of weak and ineffective RINOS like Mitt Romney and “Hopeless” John Cornyn, are, as usual, trying to cobble together a series of massive concessions for Cryin’ Chuck Schumer and the Lunatic Left, in order to “bail out” Crooked Joe Biden, THE WORST & MOST CORRUPT PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES. The Old Crow, and his group of ten (plus) COWARDS, have savaged our Country by approving Trillions of Dollars for Green New Deal Insanity, and the Weaponization of our System of “Injustice.” Don’t do it!!!”

21 House Republicans voted no on the CR. This was enough to kill the bill. Matt Gaetz explained his no vote on X writing, “I’m not voting for a Continuing Resolution (CR) that funds Jack Smith’s election interference, dangerous chaos on the Southern Border, and money for the endless war in Ukraine.”

DeSantis supporter Chip Roy, however, was happy to ignore President Trump’s warnings and fund Biden’s DOJ witch hunts. Roy’s office informed NationalFile earlier in September that Roy agreed with the Freedom Caucus about using the power of the purse to end Biden’s politicized justice department.

NationalFile still did not believe Roy would follow through on his commitment, so NatFile sent Charles Downs to Roy’s office. It turns out NationalFile was correct, Roy was going to fold.

McCarthy will continue negotiations with the House GOP and Senate leadership. Multiple votes on government funding are expected to take place this weekend and into next week.
