“It made me realize the Biden administration is basically providing backdoor amnesty for anyone who wants to show up at the border,” says asylum seeker’s attorney
A prospective asylum seeker who recently crossed the southern border illegally was scheduled for an appointment with U.S. immigration authorities more than seven years into the future, according to reports.
Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin shared a screenshot of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) document detailing a check-in meeting slated for January 23, 2031, in New York City.
“A Colombian woman who crossed illegally into El Paso, TX & was released into the U.S. was given an ICE check in date in NYC in 2031,” Melugin explained on X.
“Her immigration attorney, [Matthew Kolken], tells me it’s one of the most shocking things he’s seen in his nearly 30 years of immigration law.”
While Kolken says he believes the woman is a “legitimate asylum seeker” with an “airtight case,” he is unsure if it will ever go to court given all that could unfold between the present time and her appointment.
The document notes that the woman can seek to reschedule or cancel the meeting if necessary, conceivably pushing it even further into the 2030s.
“It made me realize the Biden administration is basically providing backdoor amnesty for anyone who wants to show up at the border,” Kolken told Melugin.
The news comes as record-shattering numbers of foreigners invade the United States every minute of every day, many of whom are being processed by border authorities, given similar appointments, and then released into the country.
On Monday, more than 14,500 illegal aliens were apprehended at the southwest border alone, followed by at least 12,200 on Tuesday.
Chaos unfolds constantly along the U.S.-Mexico border, as Infowars regularly reports.
