Special discounts in June for heterosexual couples and adults at Old State Saloon in Eagle, ID
A bar owner in Idaho says he is experiencing major retaliation after announcing “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month” at his establishment.
The Old State Saloon (OSS) in Eagle, ID, is hosting special events and offering discounts for heterosexual couples and adults during the month of June in apparent response to the onslaught of ‘LGBT Pride Month’ propaganda being pushed across the globe.
“June will be OSS’s inaugural Heterosexual Awesomeness Month! Come join us all month to celebrate heterosexuals, for without them, none of us would be here! Each Monday will be Hetero Male Monday and any heterosexual male dressed like a heterosexual male will receive a free draft beer. Each Wednesday is Heterosexual couples day and each heterosexual couple will receive 15% off their bill,” OSS staff wrote on Facebook on May 29.
OSS has received strong support for the promotion, however, opponents have also reportedly mounted a “significant backlash.”
In a post on GiveSendGo, bar management describes “theft of our property, vendors refusing to fulfill our orders for ingredients, wedding catering cancelation, libel, slander – even the owner being falsely accused of being a sex offender!”
Following a flood of recent reviews on Facebook, the saloon’s average rating is now just 2.1 out of 5.
However, the OSS rating on Google sits at 4.6 stars out of 5 with the vast majority of reviews coming long before the current controversy.
OSS owner Mark Fitzpatrick is also a real estate broker whose Zillow profile describes him as a “Christian, conservative, Constitution supporter, retired police officer, and family man.”
Fitzpatrick says he launched the GiveSendGo campaign in order to “fund the construction of a physical location specifically for traditional and faith-based events, preserving Idaho’s amazing and conservative culture.”
“If the world wants to support ‘Heterosexual Awesomeness Month’ by crowdfunding an even larger Hetero HQ, lets do it!” he said.
OSS is also offering BOGO coffee for anyone carrying a holstered firearm during the month of June.
