Paul Gallant, a Seattle radio host, mocked President Donald Trump for claiming Seattle rioters were violent. His apartment building was subsequently wrecked by the mob, and he now wants to buy a gun.

Gallant, a criminal defense advocate and radio host in Seattle, responded to President Trump on Twitter at the start of June, when Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots were just beginning off of across the country following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody.

President Trump was concerned about the creation of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone/Occupied Protest, an “anarchist takeover” of a number of blocks in the city, that quickly descended into mayhem, violence and death.

Trump was critical of Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, who referred to CHAZ/CHOP as a “summer of love,” more akin to a festival than a riot. “The terrorists burn and pillage our cities, and they think it is just wonderful, even the death. Must end this Seattle takeover now,” the President wrote.

Gallant was less concerned. “Walked through it last night out of curiosity and saw no burning, pillaging, or deaths,” he replied. “Chill dawg.”

He changed his tune six weeks later, when the rioters came for his own home. The Seattle radio host posted a pictures and video of the trashed Starbucks under his apartment complex, and said that the police were telling everyone to stay away “in case something explosive is inside.”

After being “freaked out” by a fire a few blocks from him, Gallant decided there was only one course of action he should take. “I feel ike I need to buy a firearm, because clearly this is going to keep happening,” he tweeted. “Enough is enough. It looks like a block party down the street from me. Really angry right now,” he added.
