Nick Pacilio, the Senior Communications Manager for Twitter, previously worked for vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris as her Press Secretary.
Harris, the Senator from California, was announced as Joe Biden’s vice presidential pick on Monday evening, after months of speculation. Harris was one of the front-runners, along with Susan Rice, Obama’s former National Security Advisor, and Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan.
Twitter, along with other Big Tech platforms, have been a key ground for political candidates to put out their message, especially President Trump. However, Twitter has notably gone out of its way to censor conservatives and America First commentators on their platform, with the President not safe from this censorship either.
A number of President Trump’s tweets and retweets have been removed or labelled as misinformation, with the electorate unable to see what the President and his team have been posting. This included a tweet last week from the Team Trump account that was “in violation of the Twitter rules on COVID-19 misinformation.”
Nick Pacilio, the Senior Communications Manager at Twitter, announced the removal of the Team Trump tweet, which caused many to look into his background and biography.

Before working for Twitter, Pacilio in fact worked for Kamala Harris when she was Attorney General of California for almost 4 years, first serving as her Deputy Press Secretary, then her full time Press Secretary. This has caused alarm amongst conservatives, pointing out that one presidential candidate now has an even stronger link with the social media platform.

Kamala Harris' former press secretary, Nick Pacilio, is now in charge of Twitter Communication Dept.

Earlier this year, President Trump signed an executive order targeting Big Tech’s liability protections under Section 230 of the Communications and Decency Act if they engage in the “censoring of any political conduct.” So far there has been no action taken under this order.
