Richard Spencer, the avowed white supremacist famous for coining the term “alt-right,” has decided to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden for president, saying he will vote a “straight Democratic ticket” in November.
Spencer, who was among the leaders of the white supremacist tiki torch Charlottesville march, announced his support for Biden early on Sunday morning. “I plan to vote for Biden and a straight democratic ticket,” Spencer tweeted. “It’s not based on ‘accelerationism’ or anything like that; the liberals are clearly more competent people.”

Spencer also previously claimed that Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, would somehow be tougher on law and order and cracking down on both Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters than the Trump administration.

Ironically, Biden’s campaign begin with a denunciation of the events in Charlottesville, with his campaign announcement video focusing on the events and claiming that President Donald Trump referred to white supremacists as “good people.”
Charlottesville has repeatedly surfaced in Biden’s campaign, most recently during Biden’s speech at the DNC last week, when he made the following reference to the events:
Remember seeing all those Neo-Nazis and Klansmen and white supremacists coming out of fields with lighted torches, veins bulging, spewing the same anti-semitic bile heard across Europe in the 30s. Remember the violent clash that ensued between those spreading hate, and those with the courage to stand against it.
In audio leaked by Milo Yiannopoulos, Spencer, who helped lead the march, was recorded directly after the Charlottesville rally swearing about “f*cking octoroons” and “f*cking k*kes,” claiming his ancestors “f*cking enslaved those little pieces of f*cking sh*t.”

After repeating the debunked “very fine people” quote from President Trump from the time, Biden claimed that the rally was in fact “a wake up call for us as a country,” and a “call to action” for him, saying that was what had in fact spurred him on to run for president this year.
The Biden campaign have now been forced to disavow the support of a white supremacist. “When Joe Biden says we are in a battle for the soul of our nation against vile forces of hate who have come crawling out from under rocks, you are the epitome of what he means,” Andrew Bates, Biden’s Director of Rapid Response tweeted.
“What you stand for is absolutely repugnant. Your support is 10,000% percent unwelcome here.”
