A Southwest Airlines pilot is being charged with a federal crime after committing a “lewd indecent act and obscene exposure” while he was flying a plane from Pennsylvania to Florida on August 10 last year.
A court filing filed in Maryland on April 2 said the pilot, Michael Haak, “intentionally committed an act of lewd, indecent and obscene exposure of his genitals in a public place.”
“The acts began, continued, and were completed while the aircraft was in flight from Philadelphia International Airport to Orlando International Airport, during which it overflew parts of the District of Maryland and other federal districts,” according to the federal complaint.

Southwest Airlines spokeswoman said Haak was no longer with the company. “The pilot in question is no longer employed by Southwest Airlines and departed the company last year prior to us becoming aware of the matter.”
A spokesperson also told the Associated Press that “pilots were the only people aboard aware of the incident.” And it was also confirmed that no flight attendants or passengers witnessed the incident.
