Congress Votes To Send $12 Billion More Taxpayer Dollars To Ukraine

Last Updated on September 26, 2022

The United States Congress agreed to send nearly $12 billion more dollars to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

The 12 billion dollar development was first reported Monday. The American taxpayer’s money will be used to support Ukraine’s military development and economy.

$4.5 billion will be used to boost the Ukrainian military’s equipment, while $2.7 billion will be shipped to support various other means of military, intelligence, and defense support.

The other $4.5 billion will directly help stabilize and support Kyiv’s government through the next quarter. Thanks to American citizens’ wallets, the essential staff in President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office will continue to maintain their salaries, and refuge-seeking Ukrainians will be supported.

This latest money dump comes after United States President Joe Biden requested Congress send $11.7 billion to Ukraine.

The war support was widely supported by Congress, both Republicans and Democrats rallying behind the effort.

United States support has been unrelenting over the past seven months of the Ukraine conflict.

The continued funding comes even after it was revealed Americans have lost over $4,000 in annual income under the Biden administration’s leadership.

Recent research from the Heritage Foundation “show that the average American has lost the equivalent of $4,200 in annual income under the Biden administration because of inflation and higher interest rates.”

“Heritage experts calculated this shocking number based on different sets of data. Consumer prices have risen 12.7% since January 2021, significantly faster than wages, so that the average American worker has lost $3,000 in annual purchasing power. Further, as the Federal Reserve implements tighter monetary policy to reduce inflation, interest rates are rising. Higher rates have in turn increased borrowing costs on mortgages, vehicle loans, credit cards, and more. The higher interest rates and borrowing costs have effectively reduced the average American’s purchasing power another $1,200 on an annualized basis.”

While Republicans in Congress may be supportive of Ukraine, one high-profile Conservative media influencer, Jordan Peterson, recently called the belief that Ukraine can beat Russia “naive.”
