Military veteran and business owner Carlos Zapata, who made headlines for telling the Shasta County, California Board of Supervisors to “take the masks off” this week, released a video on social media this week telling citizens to “keep the pressure” on local governments that have enacted restrictive COVID-related policies.
“Hey guys, thank you for all the support over the last couple of days,” Zapata said in the message posted to Facebook. “A lot of you guys are asking how you can help and make a difference.”
“Well, start at your local community. Go to your local supervisor meetings, go to your city council meetings, put some pressure on them and keep the pressure on them, don’t take it off. Keep pushing them until they tip… right now they’re feeling [the heat], they know there’s a movement coming of people like us who are willing to fight. We’re not going to lay down any more.”

On Tuesday, National File reported on Zapata’s appearance in front of the Shasta County Board of Supervisors:
Video footage shows military veteran and business owner Carlos Zapata tongue-lashing the Shasta County Board of Supervisors in Redding, California for invasive mask and lockdown policies related to COVID-19.
In the footage, Zapata reprimands local bureaucrats for their “cowardice,” and states, “It’s not going to be peaceful much longer” if the county does not reverse its harshest restrictions.
“As you’re sitting there with your masks on, I don’t blame you for wearing masks, because I’d be hiding my face too if I were you for what you’re doing,” the military veteran and local business owner noted.
