Video, apparently from weekend civil unrest in Portland, shows a rioter set himself on fire with a Molotov cocktail as civil unrest continued over the weekend. The rioter attempted to hurl the fireball generating improvised explosive device at police, only to apparently fail the throw and have it land at his own feet.

Video uploaded to social media begins by focusing on the faces of police, which suddenly erupt in an orange glow after the failed Molotov attack. The camera panned to the rioter who attempted to throw the Molotov cocktail. After failing to attack police, the rioter quickly looked down to see his own feet on fire.

He began moving frantically, kicking his feet forward in an animated marching motion in an attempt to stop the blaze that quite literally only added fuel to the fire. Eventually, the man appeared to simply fall on the ground. As the camera man approached, someone told the man to “stop, drop, and roll” as others attempted to smother the flames with their bare hands.

At this point riot police attempted to move to the area, apparently to provide assistance. They are quickly pushed away by rioters and reform their line as another Molotov cocktail is thrown in the street near police.

It is unclear how severely the man was burned in what police called a riot. The injury was sustained at day 100 of nonstop civil unrest in Portland.

Portland has been the scene of continuous civil unrest since the police involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota in May of this year. Recently, a conservative member of the Patriot Prayer group was killed in the street by a member of Antifa, resulting in condemnation from the president and, strangely, friendly coverage in the press.

Federal police attempted to apprehend the man who admitted to the shooting, and the man died after resisting during the encounter with federal authorities.

National File reported:

Reinoehl, who had been served with an arrest warrant by police earlier Thursday, was tracked down by a federal fugitive task force according to The New York Times.

“The officials said the suspect, Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, was killed during the encounter in Lacey, Wash., southwest of Seattle, when a federal fugitive task force moved to apprehend him,” the New York Times reported.

Journalist Andy Ngo tweeted, “Michael Forest Reinoehl, who killed Portland Trump supporter Aaron Danielson, died in Lacey, Wash. My sources are telling me U.S. Marshalls went to arrest him.”

Portland was also the scene of a violent incident that recently captured headlines when protesters pulled a man, who was defending a transgendered person, into the crowd, and beat him severely for “being white.”
