U.S. House Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who earned a dedicated political following that transcends parties due to her anti-war stances and disdain for establishment Democrats, has accused Netflix of being “complicit” in child trafficking following the release of Cuties, a film that features prepubescent girls dancing sexually and in various stages of undress.
“Netflix,” wrote Gabbard. “‘Cuties’ will certainly whet the appetite of pedophiles & help fuel the child sex trafficking trade. 1 in 4 victims of trafficking are children. It happened to my friend’s 13-year-old daughter. Netflix, you are now complicit.”

After a Twitter user said that human trafficking should get more attention in the media, Gabbard indicated her agreement.
“I agree,” wrote Gabbard. “Most people think it’s not a serious issue or that it just happens to some people in other places.” She went on, “It is rampant and happening in our own communities.”

While National File began covering the film months ago, when the film was added to Netflix and clips began to surface, it became apparent to many that it was more distasteful than previously thought.
When the film debuted this week, however, viewers were quick to take notice of the parents guide on IMDB, which noted several sexually explicit scenes in the film were “lawfully defined as pedophilia and can be extremely distressing.”
Though the IMDB parents guide section is user submitted, all submissions must be approved and judged as accurate by IMDB before appearing on the site. The parents guide section was later updated to omit the references to pedophilia, but even the revised version notes multiple sexual scenes throughout the film.
Several scenes involved sexual interactions between children in from the film have since been posted to social media.
Gabbard has a track record of breaking Democrat Party orthodoxy on major issues. While many Democrats openly celebrated the cancer diagnosis of conservative radio pioneer and legend Rush Limbaugh, Gabbard expressed her “love and best wishes” in a message written on social media.
