First Lady Melania Trump posted her first update since being diagnosed with COVID-19 alongside President Donald Trump last night to her official @FLOTUS Twitter account, thanking her and the president’s supporters, and reassuring them that her symptoms are mild and she expects a fast recovery.

“Thank you for the love you are sending our way,” wrote Trump. “I have mild symptoms but overall feeling good. I am looking forward to a speedy recovery.”

Last night, the First Lady confirmed the news in another post to her Twitter account, noting that she and President Trump made plans to quarantine and had canceled all upcoming events.

“As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19,” wrote Trump. “We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

Last night a statement from White House physician Dr. Sean Conley first broke the news of the President and First Lady’s diagnoses. National File reported:

A statement from White House physician Dr. Sean Conley revealed that the doctor “received confirmation that both President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus,” and “The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.”

“The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions,” wrote Dr. Conley, “Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future development.”

President Trump also confirmed the First Family’s diagnosis in an update posted to his Twitter account.
