Colorado Rockies Angrily Investigate Fan For Using Racial Slur, Turns Out Man Was Yelling Name Of Team Mascot ‘Dinger’

The Colorado Rockies opened a serious investigation into determining which fan yelled “N****r” during Sunday’s game against the Miami Marlins. The team released a full apology on social media promising the public they were “disgusted,” announcer Paul Severino expressed regret for the fan’s use of the word and said it had “no place” in the broadcast, and black people on Twitter accused the team of white supremacy in posts that quickly went viral.

Within hours, however, it became apparent that that no shouter “N****r” at any point, and what was heard on camera was clearly an excited fan calling out for the team mascot “Dinger.”

Multiple left-wing activists posted video of the incident to Twitter accompanied by virtue signaling commentary. The Rockies put out a statement assuring the public that they are “disgusted by the racial slur by a fan directed at the Marlins’ Lewis Brinson during the ninth inning of today’s game,” and promising they were “still investigating the incident.”

“The Rockies have zero tolerance for any form of racism and discrimination, and any fan using derogatory language of any kind will be ejected and banned from Coors Field,” the statement concluded. Black Lives Matter amateur activists on Twitter were not impressed, accusing the team of dragging its feet in the race to doxx the alleged white supremacist fan.

The groundbreaking investigation was doomed to failure. 9News reporter Steve Saeger reported on Monday, “The Rockies tell me last night’s incident was a fan shouting to get the attention of the Rockies mascot Dinger, not a racial slur. The Rockies have spoken to the fan who confirms this is the case. They’ve also reviewed video from the local broadcast.”

“The Rockies tell me no one on the field, including Brinson, heard anything offensive,” Saeger said, adding, “The Rockies say they worked with AT&T Sportsnet, the local broadcaster, to identify where the microphone that picked up the comment was.”

BLM fans in the comments were quick to insist that racism is still a problem in the MLB, with some even alleging a sinister conspiracy to protect the fan who yelled, “Dinger.”
