‘Resign’ And ’25th Amendment’ Trend On Twitter After Trump Tells Biden To Quit ‘In Disgrace’ For Bungling Afghan Withdrawal

The keywords “Resign” and “25th Amendment” are trending on social media platform Twitter after President Donald Trump called for President Joe Biden to “resign in disgrace” following the latter’s historically unprecedented bungling of the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from the war-torn country of Afghanistan, which is currently undergoing a Taliban coup.

“Resign” in reference to Biden has already accrued over 155,000 individual tweets, with “25th Amendment” rising to over 30,000 tweets. The hashtag #ResignBiden is also building serious momentum as Republicans call for the embattled Democrat President to vacate the Oval office and White House.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) tweeted on Monday, “After the disastrous events in Afghanistan, we must confront a serious question: Is Joe Biden capable of discharging the duties of his office or has time come to exercise the provisions of the 25th Amendment?” The 25th Amendment provides for the ability of the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet or a group established by Congress to remove a president by declaring them unfit for office.

As National File previously reported, President Donald Trump called for Biden to “resign in disgrace” for Afghanistan and other policy blunders in a statement released on Sunday:

President Donald Trump released a statement on Sunday slamming Democrat President Joe Biden over the latter’s bungling of the ongoing coup in Afghanistan, stating “It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen to Afghanistan” and adding “It shouldn’t be a big deal, because he wasn’t elected legitimately in the first place!”

“It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen to Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in COVID, the Border catastrophe, the destruction of energy independence, and our crippled economy,” the statement declared. “It shouldn’t be a big deal, because he wasn’t elected legitimately in the first place.”

“Articles of Impeachment” is also trending on Twitter in reference to Biden, as is “Trump Trump Trump,” a sarcastic nod to Democrats’ attempt to blame Donald Trump for Joe Biden’s mismanaging of the situation in Afghanistan.

Update: “Impeach 46” is now also trending.
